Privacy Policy

Last updated August 8, 2026

munmun is operated by AA ESTATES & INVESTMENTS LLC (“we”, “us”), and helps parents and caretakers track a baby’s daily care, growth, and development. We take the privacy of your family’s data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we will never do

  • We will never show you ads. There is no advertising in munmun and no ad network attached to it.
  • We will never sell your family’s data — not to brands, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We will never use your baby’s data for advertising or profiling, and we do not embed advertising pixels or session recorders.
  • We will never send your data to an AI provider unless you turn the AI companion on. It is off by default, we name the provider before you agree, and nothing is used to train AI models.
  • We will never make you ask us to leave. You can export your activity log as a PDF or spreadsheet from the Insights screen, and delete your account — and everything in it — from Profile & Settings.

The rest of this policy is the detail behind those lines: what we collect, who processes it, and how to exercise your rights.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address and authentication details when you sign up (or the Google account you sign in with).
  • Baby profile — the name, date of birth, sex, and optional photo and birth weight you enter for each baby.
  • Care activity you log — feeds, diapers, sleep/naps, meals and foods, medications, health notes and temperatures, growth measurements, milestones, and any notes or photos you add.
  • Caretaker & family data — display names and access settings for helpers you invite, and the household instructions you write.
  • Device & usage data — anonymous, aggregate-only measurements of how the app is used, and (if you enable reminders) a push-notification token for your device. There are two streams, and neither carries your name, your email, or anything you have logged about your baby:
    • Our own first-party analytics (pageviews, feature usage, error counts) tied to a salted pseudonymous identifier. This stream stays in our own database and is not shared with anyone.
    • Vercel Analytics, a cookie-free service that gives us basic traffic and feature-usage counts. See “How your data is shared” below.

How we use your information

  • To provide the app’s core features — logging, insights, reminders, and sharing with the caretakers and co-parents you choose.
  • To personalize age-appropriate content (foods, milestones, growth percentiles) for your baby.
  • To send the reminders and summaries you opt into.
  • To keep the service secure, debug problems, and improve the product.

We do notsell your personal information, and we do not use your baby’s data for advertising.

How your data is shared

  • With people you invite — co-parents and caretakers you add can see and log data for the babies you share with them, per the access you grant.
  • Service providers — we use trusted infrastructure vendors to run the app: Supabase (database & authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Vercel Analytics, which receives anonymous, aggregate usage counts (which pages are opened, which features are used). Vercel Analytics is cookie-free and does not receive your name, email, or anything you have logged about your baby. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
  • AI provider (only if you turn on the companion) — see the section below.
  • Legal — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

The AI companion (“Ask munmun”)

munmun includes an optional AI companion that answers questions about your baby using the data you have logged. It is off until you explicitly turn it on, and you can turn it off again at any time in Profile & Settings → AI companion.

  • Who processes it— when the companion is on, we send your question and a summary of the baby’s data to Anthropic, which operates the Claude AI service that generates the reply. Anthropic acts as our service provider for this feature.
  • What is sent— the baby’s first name, date of birth, and a summary drawn from what you have logged: recent feeds, sleep, diapers, meals and foods, growth measurements, milestones, vaccine records, medications, and health notes, together with the recent messages in that chat thread. If you use voice logging, the words you speak or type are sent to the same provider so they can be turned into entries — the audio itself is converted to text on your own device and never leaves it.
  • What is not sent — your email address, account credentials, payment details, photos, and caretaker contact details are not sent to the AI provider.
  • How it may be used — the data is used to generate your answer. It is not used to train AI models, and it is never used for advertising or profiling.
  • If you turn it off — nothing further is sent. Your past chat history stays in your munmun account until you delete your account, and every other part of the app works unchanged.

The companion is not a medical professional and its answers are not medical advice — see “Not medical advice” below.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your account— from Profile & Settings → Delete account, you can permanently erase your account and all associated baby data at any time. This cannot be undone.
  • Access & export— you can view all data you’ve entered in the app, and export your activity log as a PDF report or a spreadsheet (CSV) from the Insights screen — over any date range you choose, including since your baby’s birth or since their last doctor’s visit. For anything outside that, contact us for a copy or with any data request.
  • Reminders — you control notification preferences in the app.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.

Data retention and security

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, the associated data is removed from our live systems; residual copies in encrypted backups age out on our backup rotation. We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security) to protect your data, though no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Children's data

munmun is intended for use by parents and adult caretakers. The data about a child is entered by an adult on the child’s behalf. The app is not directed to or intended for use by children. We collect only the child information a parent chooses to enter, and never use it for advertising or profiling.

Not medical advice

munmun’s content — including growth percentiles, sleep and developmental guidance, and food information — is for general informational purposes only and is not medical advice. Always consult your pediatrician for medical decisions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
